Scholarships are available at
MxCC! Applications are made available through the Office of
the Dean of Learning & Student Development. Criteria is
clearly defined in the application and a deadline date is provided.
Deserving students are selected by a committee of faculty, staff,
and foundation members. Each scholarship donor's
intent is honored during the selection process.
For the 2006 - 2007 academic year, the Foundation has about 60
scholarships available for students. Funds are raised continuously and expended for
scholarships in May. These scholarships enable entering and/or continuing students
to access an education at MxCC that otherwise might be impossible.
A completed scholarship application includes:
- A completed 2007 Scholarship Application form.
- A copy of the confirmation or summary sheet of your 2006 - 2007 FAFSA
(Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to document that you have applied for financial
aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov using school code
008038.
- A copy of your latest transcript from MxCC or, or if an entering student,
from your high school.
- At least two letters of recommendation from people who have known you
through school, employment, or community activities.
- A brief essay describing what motivates you to succeed, why you wish to
be considered for a scholarship, and what you want to accomplish with your life and for
your community.
