Scholarships are available at MxCC!  Applications are made available through the Office of the Dean of Learning & Student Development.  Criteria is clearly defined in the application and a deadline date is provided.  Deserving students are selected by a committee of faculty, staff, and foundation members.  Each scholarship donor's intent is honored during the selection process.

For the 2009 - 2010 academic year, the Foundation has about 60 scholarships available for students.  Funds are raised continuously and expended for scholarships in May.  These scholarships enable entering and/or continuing students to access an education at MxCC that otherwise might be impossible.

A completed scholarship application includes:

  • A completed 2010 Scholarship Application form.
  • A copy of the confirmation or summary sheet of your 2009 - 2010 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to document that you have applied for financial aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov using school code 008038.
  • A copy of your latest transcript from MxCC or, or if an entering student, from your high school.
  • At least two letters of recommendation (on official letterhead) one of which must be from a current MxCC faculty member if you are a returning student.  Letters must indicate the writer’s relationship to you, e.g., high school or college faculty, employer, volunteer supervisor, etc.  Important:  Letters from relatives and friends will not be accepted.
  • A brief essay describing what motivates you to succeed, why you wish to be considered for a scholarship, and what you want to accomplish with your life and for your community.

Applications should be submitted to:

Middlesex Community College
Dr. Adrienne Maslin
Associate Dean of Learning & Student Development

To receive a scholarship, entering and continuing students must be a student at MxCC with a 2.5 grade point average or an applicant for admission to the College.  Scholarship applicants will be notified by mail in April 2010 with respect to whether they will be awarded a scholarship.  Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
